No. Your computers connect to our secure NAS over the internet. You just need an internet connection. The Synology Active Backup agent is installed on each computer and handles everything automatically in the background.
Email or call us. We'll restore your file within 1 business day, usually much faster. For the on-site NAS plan, you can also restore files directly from the NAS yourself — we'll show you how during setup.
Yes. All backup traffic is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption. Your data is never accessible by third parties. We don't sell, share, or analyze your data — period.

Yes, for open-source app deployments. We can set up an app and hand it over to you. Backup plans, however, require a monthly subscription since we actively monitor and manage your backup health on an ongoing basis — a one-time setup wouldn't provide the same protection.
